A pub with a twist...

This has to be an experience which has to go down in my experience book. I could actually give Lord Alfred Tennyson, a run for his money:) Well so this friend of mine A said we should go out somewhere in jersey city. I should see the sights and sounds there.
A was like "We should go to this gay bar. My friend has been asking me and I'm curious to go".
I :"Babe I have a flight to catch and the final straw for me would be to go to place where not a single man would be interested in me!!!"
A: "Come on..what are you worried about...someone hitting on you...HE HE..WONT HAPPEN".
Well curiosity got the better of me and I decided to check out this experience. I was a little worried. I did not want to see men making out. I was really freaking out but of course, I am so used to putting on the fake, really cool demeanor. And A and me actually dressed up to go to this place. Why even bother(I think now)??
Well so we finally arrived at THE PLACE. I was really surprised by it. In fact I think it's the safest place for two single women who don't want to be troubled by Rif rafs to go to. I mean first of all this was an upscale lounge and they are friendly to non-gays(IMAGINE!!!). I met a lot of nice rich, older gay men who looked at your face and spoke (such a relief) and we actually had conversations. In fact contrary to what people think, nobody is stripping and it's like actually having a drink at the buttery bar. The only difference is that you see men sitting together and drinking. No nudity and all. Very classy and not at all cheap. So that was very nice.
The icing on the cake was the "DRAG QUEEN".

The drag queen was like the "Queen of Sheeba". Victoria made people do something. She usually asks the gay men to strip. I was sure I did not want to see a naked man. ANyway so she starts and guess who she came to first..."ME!!!"..She was terribly disappointed when I said I was not gay:) It was so funny, I was the only non-gay there (Of course A too)and it was okay. I think this is the only country which accepts people for being so drastically different and they just let everyone be. I think that's one nice thing to learn from here. Of course everyone has their sets of problem! There is a lot of diversity. I loved new york. I mean the place has the buzz and I think it lets people just be themselves. I love that city. Wish I could be there!!! But again as I say, man is never satisfied:)

yeah yeah, now I'm narrow minded.

On a different note, you should pop down to London to see diversity, people who have been to NY and London usually say that London is more varied in its diversity and especially when it comes to homosexuality, its very open here. In fact, i've finally learned to put that shocked expression away when someone tells me he/she is gay.
