Woh what a trip!

I had a fabulous time this thanksgiving. We went to Phoenix and San Diego and probably saying "we had fun" is an understatement. Let me roll it down for you.
We started from pittsburgh at 5:30 AM. Our flight was at 8:50 AM and a lot of people told us that travelling on thanksiving could be potentially dangerous (read "missing flights"), so better be at the airport two hours befor departure. We got our bus right on time and reached the airport at 7:00 AM itself. So we had some sandwiches and waited for our flight. The journey took about four hours and was long. But we slept through and were dead tired when we reached Phoenix. Sharadha's brother took us to his house. We freshned up and were taken to south indian udipi restaturant to have authentic south indian food. After the scrumptious lunch, we decided to head for the Grand canyon but as we didn't have that much time and we had all booking for San Diego, we decided against going. So that evening we were showed around Phoenix and we climbed on top of a mountain called "A mountain" from where we got an aerial view of Phoenix. It was spectacular, I can't even describe it. That evening we watched Harry Potter 4 and then hit the sack at 2 AM.
Day 1
The next morning I watched three movies before heading to San Diego:-) Venkat (Sharadha's brother) had rented a six seater car for the ride. His other friend who was supposed to come dropped out in the last minute.

Anyway, it was my first experience of driving in America. Though I didn't drive. I would have loved too but alas..too much at stake(I can't wait to have my own car)! We reached San Diego by eight o clock and checked into our swanky hotel. It was a really nice room and the weather was fabulous. It was like Bangalore weather. We went out for dinner that night to pizza hut because all the places were closed because of the "Thanksgiving vacation". Can you imagine that happening in India? He he..anway after that, we went back and slept.
Day 2
The next morning we set out for sea world. This was simply superb. They had a couple of rides but basically they have all the creatures from the sea there. So we saw the sea lion show, the dolphin and whale show and the piece de la resistance was "Pets rules". The show was all about the rules pets have. The animals were so well trained and the tricks they played was just awesome. There was actually one that jumped like a cheerleader. I love labs and they had a good many of them. The pictures would probably speak better than the words. The rides were great too. By the time we finished sea world, it was around eight o clock. After that we went to downtown San Diego and checked out some malls there. Then we ate at a mexican restaurant there. The whole place was beautiful and the city bore a festive look thanks to the holiday season.
Day 3
We decided to finish off looking at the famous San Diego zoo and then the beaches. I saw animals that I had never seen before like the panda, okapi, kangaroo and the polar bear. There were some other crazy animals and names I had never heard off. It was like walking through the amazon forest or something. It was more like a forest then a zoo. It's great to see how things are maintained here.
After finishing that up, we went to the pacific beach. Apparently this was where top gun was shot. It was great. There were surfers, lifeguard decks, people roller blading and the hill surrounding the area. It remineded me off the "santa barbara" beach that we used to watch on TV. I guess it should look similar. We saw some surfers in action and watched the sunset. It was time now to say good bye to San Diego and head back to phoenix:-(
The drive back was great and we reached Phoenix at 11 o clock. We went to International house of pan cakes and I wolfed down an garden fresh omelette and yummy pancake. All in all it was a great trip and I hope I can have more fun times like this in the future. Long live venkat!
